Vulcan the Roman God of Fire
- In Roman mythology, Vulcan was the son of Jupiter and Juno, and married to Venus.
- He was the blacksmith for the gods constructing swords, shields, and thrones in the molten fire.
- He is also known as the god of volcanoes, metalworking, and the forge.
- The word ‘volcano’ stems from his name, and it was believed that eruptions happened because Vulcan was angry.
- The Greek god equivalent is Hephaestus.
- Not to be confused with this Vulcan:
In today’s society, we do not have a lot of use for swords and shields. Vulcan now forges wire into custom lengths and sizes for the gods of recycling and construction. Our smithy (aka manufacturing plant) is located in the heart of the bay area near San Francisco. We are the premier baling wire manufacturer on the west coast. Since 1975.
