Over the past decade, recycling in the United States has increased almost 100%. Some states such as California, Hawaii, Oregon, Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Vermont, Massachusetts, Iowa, Michigan and New York have passed laws to establish refund values on certain recyclables in order to promote recycling programs. Of the 1200 million tons of trash produced in the U.S., an impressive 65% of total waste is recycled.
Promote Environmental Sustainability
Across the globe, mandatory recycling has been established in the European Union and Japan. China and India are among the worst recyclers, which have affected their air quality, water quality, and sanitation. We all should definitely continue increasing our efforts in sustainability to keep America clean.
“This land is your land, This land is my land
From California to the New York island;
From the redwood forest to the Gulf Stream waters,
This land was made for you and me.”
